  • Mungyung Tour Course

  • Gomo Sansung
photo It is not clearly known when the sansung, or a fortification on the moutains, was built. According to the legends, two old ladies had a competition to built the fortifications, and they finished building them overnight. The main fortification is on the east and the one on the west is known to serve as a backup.
The two fortifications are located at the traffic hub right in the center connecting Sangju, Hamchang, and Jeomchon, highlighting its strategic importance.
  • Mungyung Saejae (KBS Drama Sets)
photo The place is also called as Joryung and located at the heart of the Sothern part of the peninsular connecting Jungbu Province and Youngnam Province. The scenery is also spectacular, making it designated as a Provincial Park. Many TV dramas on history by KBS were filmed here as well.
  • Coal Museum
photo Coal used be called as the ‘fuel of the nation,’ and served as the critical resource in Korea’s industrial history.
The museum was built with a goal to provide valuable knowledge and memories of coal industry, which is now at its dusk.
