Daemyeong Performance Street

Nam-gu offers a diverse selection of venues for cultural arts activities, such as Daemyeong Performance Street, Daedeok Cultural Center, Nam-gu Youth Lab, and Daegu Music Lab. With the relocation of Daegu University and Keimyung University’s Daemyeong Campus in the 1990s, small theaters, indie band spots, art classrooms, and sound equipment stores began popping up around Myeongdeok Station due to the area’s low rent. This eventually grew into Daemyeong Performance Street, which is the only cluster of small performance theaters outside Seoul. Visitors can discover the joys of cultural arts at Daemyeong Performance Street, a mecca of the performing arts that is always filled with performances of various genres, including small theater performances, invited performances, and musical and dance performances.
