Daegu Arboretum was the site of a landfill from 1986 to 1990. It was converted into a arboretum between 1996 to 2002, in order to help to solve the environmental crisis. It currently has 21 plots, and houses over 60,000 trees of 400 different types. In addition, there are a variety of different flowers, cacti, and other plants to be seen. As an arboretum near the heart of the city, it attracts visitors as a site for viewing, education, and relaxation.
